Apr to Jun - best months for clear, calm waters; the season extends to Sept off the outer islands and October off the inner islands.
Inner islands are popular with non-divers and snorkellers.
The outer islands are in deeper water and look set to become international diving destinations.
So far, because of the cost of boat hire, diving has been only in organised groups eg clubs or dive shops.
Access by boat from Mersing.
Pulau Sibu is one of the larger and more popular islands.
