Boracay:

It is 7 km long by 1 km wide (at its narrowest point).
It is a jewel in the Philippines' crown.

- named one of the top beach destinations in Asia by international media eg CNN and NBC- 315 km south of Manila, it is about 10 sq km and 7 km from the north to the south end
- It is located in the Philippine municipality of Malay in the province of Aklan, with a population of about 16,000 people.
- Best time to visit: November to May (dry months)
- all visitors are required to pay an environmental fee of 75 pesos (S$2.50) a person, which helps to manage the effects of tourism on the island. There is also a 100 pesos boat terminal fee. Payment is usually collected at the Caticlan Jetty Port where tourists board boats to get to Boracay.

Getting There:
Tigerair has thrice-weekly flights on Wed, Fri and Sundays to Kalibo International Airport
Take a 1.5 to 2 hrs bus ride to Caticlan Jetty Port, followed by a 15 to 30-minute boat ride to Cagban Port in the south of Boracay.
Tickets for the bus and boat ride can be purchased just outside the main entrance of Kalibo International Airport. They cost between 1,000 and 1,800 pesos (S$ 29 and S$ 52)
Hotels can also help to arrange transfers from the airport
